Another fun challenge this month and a new one for Earrings Everyday.
The collaborating team of this fantastic blog are posting
a monthly challenge… just for earrings.
“We’re All Ears Inspiration Challenge”
Who doesn’t love earrings ??
Here’s how to play along: On the first Friday of the month, they will post an inspiration…
a photo, painting, song, poem, person, movie, place, textile, etc…
You have two weeks to create your pair of inspired earrings
and be ready to post a link on the third Friday of the month.
It’s a pretty short turn around time as challenges go,
but earrings are pretty small creations, right ?!
This month was a sweet photo of two Damsel Dragonflies,
obviously in love.
They have these delicate articulated body structures…
such fragile looking creatures.
I was taken with the wire work possibilities and the iridescent shimmery colors.
Kristy’s Kreation’s earrings really got me going…
Here’s my design that had me diving into my large stash of seed beads.
Which is funny, since I don’t do bead weaving.
Must have thousands of these tiny, lovely beads.
Seed beads and oxidized copper wire with handcrafted ear wires.
Love how the shape echos the dragonfly’s! Fantastic!
Thanks so much. This was definitely a fun first challenge!
Hey… I saw that you post these on Lima too..I decided to do the same…I agree it was a fun first challenge!
Yup…thought the good people over at Lima Beads might like to join us next month and spread the joy around!
These are fantastic! Love the shaping!
Hi, Claire! They took a bit of finagling since these were the first of this kind for me, but I’m happy with the results, too.
Adorable!!! I can see the inspiration running all through these wonderful earrings. Thank you for participating in our first challenge!!
My pleasure! Been a fan of Earrings Everyday for a long time and look forward to next month’s challenge. Thanks for putting it together for us.
Those are so cool, Lynda! I bet they are truly stunning with light shining through them too. I’m in the same boat as you…. millions of seed beads in my stash too. I bought many of them when I first started out and was mostly doing stringing but I still find many uses for them.
Yes, that was the unexpected surprise with these…just how much they glowed in the light! And I’d be very interested if you’d share ways you use up all those seed beads!
Oh, I can’t say that I get through them quickly but I do use them a good bit as spacers when I’m stringing, or in little earrings. They finds themselves as little dangles off of a lot of my clasps too to dress it up a little bit. If you don’t mind me asking, what sort of wire did you use to get them to hold their shape?
Not at all, Sarajo…I used copper wire (22 g, I think) that I had already oxidized with LOS. Glued the turquoise round on one end first. Then, it was just a matter of stringing on all the beads and shaping the wire. Easier than I thought it would be!
Thanks for sharing your seed bead uses, too.
Stunningly creative design. I can just see them swinging on your ears with the light shining through them.
Thanks, Susan! Appreciate your kind words.
Oh, love the colors in these!
I love that your design reflects the dance of the damselflies! Wonderful colour combination too
Love the shape and the color combination.
Thanks so much, Kelly! Have to say that there was such strong color inspiration in the photo to play with.
Love the colors and the shapes you used!
This was a fun challenge, wasn’t it?? Thanks for stopping by and your kind words.
Wow Lynda, These are such a fun pair of earrings They have an awesome shape and definitely reminds me of the challenge photo! It was a fun challenge and one I’m looking forward to next month!
Thanks, Shel! Love the fast turn around on this challenge…don’t think too much…just do it. Can’t wait to see what the next inspiration is.

Thanks so much, Linda! And thank you for your part in hosting this fun event for us all. Looking forward to the next one!
Great earrings. I love the use of seed beads, I too have thousands of them (mostly bought at yard sales, thrift shops and super discounts!) and I am not a seed bead weaver. But they are great for things like this! The colors are perfect.
AHA! Another seed bead hoarder! Every once in a while, they do come in very handy, don’t they?
love your earrings . I don’t seed bead stitch either and yet I too have a plethora of tubes and baggies and containers full. great combo of beads and colours.
Maybe we need to get a No Weave, Seed Bead challenge going and use up some more of these little guys! Thanks for stopping by today, Deb.
I like your idea of a no weave seed bead challenge. hmmmmmmm.
What a lovely creation inspired by dragonflies. Love the colors you picked for this. Beautiful.
Thanks for your kind words! The forms and colors in the image were certainly great inspiration.
What a fab design, you really caught the essence of those Damsel Dragonflies!
Hi, Niky! Thanks…with so much color and whimsy in the photo, it was fairly easy to create these earrings for the challenge.
These earrings have such beautiful curves. I love how you mixed seed bead finishes. It really goes well with the inspiration picture.
I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to curve the wire strung with all those beads, but so happy it worked! Thanks for stopping by, Kala!
Lovely earrings. I like the colors and the shape which mimics the dragonflies in the photo.
Thank you, Alice! This was such a fun challenge with all the happy colors!
What fun these are! They are so full of whimsy and color. Nicely done 🙂

Design inspiration taken from nature. A spectacular design. We can use the beauty of nature in our designs. Earrings are very liked. Color harmony is beautiful.
Thank you, Angela! I don’t think we can improve on the beautiful of nature…only take inspiration from it. Glad you like the earrings!
