Not much doing on the jewelry making front this month. We are in the midst of starting, progressing, and finishing a lot of home projects on this 60 year old house of ours. My husband has been replacing all the original double hung windows for the past 10 years. Many of which do not work anymore…we make it work by propping them open with wood sticks when needed. Or putting large nails in the frames. The latest update is in our bedroom…then painting, then new carpet. Then there’s retiling a shower, repairing broken plumbing in said shower, putting in drought tolerant landscaping in our front yard…Thank goodness for family who were willing to help us get that started with a Planting and Pizza Party a few weeks ago.
I finally decided that today I would go and create something! I’ve had these two bezel tray toggle clasps forever and have no clue where I got them. If any of you could help, I’d love to have a source…
Stuffed the bezels with white polymer clay and pressed them on a pretty outdoorsy nature stamp. After the first bake, I smeared on mixtures of alcohol inks and liquid polymer clay. After another bake, a coat of satin varnish.
The clasp kit came with these cute little key toggles. I’m thinking of designing necklaces with will include these two affirmation bars as well.
Not sure yet about beads, leather, chains, and other whatnots… It was enough to take a break and enjoy some Making.
