Gifts for Friends… April 26, 2016

Filed under: Archives — Fresh Baked Designs @ 5:14 pm

This week is crazy busy, but fun. We’re getting ready for our annual Women’s Retreat this weekend with almost 100 women…more than ever before. So excited to see old friends and make new ones. This is the first year that the program is being planned by the next generation… such a gift to have younger women share what God has been doing in their lives.

As a little thank you, I’ve made bracelets for the two co-leaders. The engraved bracelet bars are from Michaels and I thought they would love the sentiment.

Next up is a gift for our Women’s Bible Study teacher.  We tackled Revelation this year and she has done a truly amazing job giving us a balanced scriptural understand of this book of hope.  I’ve had this pair of serving spoons/salad servers for quite awhile…intending to ‘bead them up’ sometime. Well, today was the day to get them jazzed up with lots of interesting glass beads with a beach-y theme.  Love how they turned out and BONUS!

The beads give them a really nice weight and feel!

Linda, these are absolutely awesome. I love the items you have made and the bracelets are just so touching. What cording did you use to tie them together? What are the peachy beads? So beautiful. Love the spoons too. What a great idea. You are so talented and have a heart for the Lord. It shines through your jewelry. Thanks for sharing. They will be a blessing to whoever receives them.

    • Hi, Kathy! Glad you like these. I used 4 ply waxed linen cord in a caramel color. The beads are cherry quartz purchased at Michaels. I love how they are a little bit translucent. Hope you try some bead wrapping on serving spoons some time. It was really fun to mix up the beads!

      • Linda i know its been a year since you answered me on this bracelet but just realized i never responded. I apologize. I am going to try to make a few of these with the linen cording. Also will try to wire wrap some spoons for the Holiday season. Thanks for all you do. I enjoy your jewelry!

      • Is it time to start on Holiday creations???? LOL! Always enjoy hearing from you, Kathy!

      • Yes it’s time to start the Holiday creations. My shows start early October through December so i will be looking for some items to wrap today. Last year i made ornaments. I try to make something different each year. Got any ideas to share?

      • Kudos to you for thinking and planning ahead! Craft fairs are looming… I have nothing new, but have you tried personalized dog and cat tags? Boot bracelets? Bookmarks? People do seem to like small gift items they can pick up for friends and family. I’ll have to put on my thinking cap, as well.
